While Wurstbande were making their collab. wall with Kashink, I could peer at their amazing character design sketchbook and took some rare shots (courtesy of WB).
Born and based in Berlin, Wurstbande is a creative graphic duo active in the fields of illustration and wall design.
The Urban Spree bookstore on Warschauer Str. is currently selling some limited edition A4 prints by Wurstbande.
In June 2013, a week after Nunca finished a Berliner punk piece in another part of Urban Spree (covered here), Paris based artist Kashink teamed up with local wunderkinder Wurstbande to paint the Urban Spree Artist Wall.
They came up with a brilliant, highly colorful piece, in their cool graphic style.
After having completed her mural at Urban Spree and before leaving Berlin, Kashink did another fine piece near Schlesisches Tor, which you can also see on her flickr gallery here.
3 years ago, all the arcades with their reddish background, tropical style and weird portraits under Warschauer Brücke were fully repainted by our homies in 2 days of happy painting.
At that time, we didn’t know if the paintings would stay or be covered owing to some real estate development.
3 years after, the spot has seen numerous street artists painting arcades and leaving a mark at Urban Spree.
Our Tel Aviv homie Klone was the first to solo paint an arcade 3 years ago and this move triggered the first spontaneous Arkaden Jam a few days later.
3 years later, Klone is back to Berlin and altogether, we’ll paint all the arcades again.
Urban Spree’s Arkaden Jam will happen on Saturday and Sunday, July 18th and 19th with live music provided by the Urban Spree Summer Sessions.

Urban Spree Gallery presents: The CIRCLE SHOW
A group exhibition featuring a selection of Berlin based artists within our creative network.
Urban Spree is not only an exhibition space but also a cultural melting pot. Since it was found last year, we’ve already built a vibrant community attracting local creatives as well as artists from all over the world. For the first Circle Show, we’ve invited a great lineup of artists to create each an original art piece, resembling the shape of a circle.
The idea of the circle represents our circle of friends that made Urban Spree an amazing place. We are looking forward to showcase the best creatives in Berlin who are closely connected to us.
